| Biography: |
| Ben Hamilton had a break-out year in 2002, and looks to continue that trend this season. Hamilton, who did not see any action his rookie year, earned a starting role at guard last season, but was forced to move to center when Tom Nalen was placed on the injured reserve after Week 7. He quickly emerged as one the team's top lineman, by taking what he learned in his rookie season and the experience he gained in NFL Europe into a more prominent role on the offensive line in 2002. Hamilton figures to move back to guard this season, and hopes to contribute to another great season by last year's NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, Clinton Portis. He started all 16 games last season, and spent 2001 on the 53-man roster, but was inactive for each game. Prior to the 2002 season, he spent the spring honing his skills with the Berlin Thunder of the NFL Europe League. Hamilton was selected by the Broncos in the fourth round (113th overall) of the 2001 NFL Draft, out of Minnesota.
2003: Hamilton started at left guard in all 16 games, helping the Broncos rush for a franchise-record 2,629 yds., while tying for the fourth-fewest sacks allowed in team history. In Wk. 4 vs. Det. (9/28), he moved to center in the fourth quarter to replace an injured Tom Nalen (right ankle).
