| Big Ten Freshman of the Year by the coaches and media, becoming the first Gopher to win the award since Darrell Thompson in 1986 ... honorable mention All-Big Ten by the coaches and the media ... selected to the Scripps/FWAA Freshman All-America Team... teamed with Marion Barber III to become only the third duo in Big Ten history and the 30th in NCAA history to each post 1,000 yards rushing in the same season (and the first running back duo to accomplish that feat since Colorado State in 1996) ... appeared in 13 games with two starts - at Penn State (9/27) and vs. Oregon (12/31) ... carried the ball 162 times for 1,121 yards and 10 touchdowns ... his 1,121 yards rushing were the most of any freshman in the nation ... became the 60th freshman in NCAA history to rush for 1,000 yards ... ranked fifth in the Big Ten in rushing yards and 38th in the nation...
