| Biography: |
Mike Patterson was selected in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft by the Philadelphi Eagles, 31st overall.
Mike Patterson spent the 2003 football season on a different level than most other players. As one of the more dominant nose tackles in the game, Patterson put up huge numbers and was the driving force of the defensive line. He totaled 55 tackles, including seven sacks, while recovering three fumbles (one of which he ran 52 yards with for a touchdown against UCLA). Mike’s athletic ability and wide body made almost every defensive play look like a bowling ball slamming against five offensive line pins and knocking them every which way. If Patterson’s 2003 season wasn’t enough to strike fear into the heart of any offensive lineman in the Pac-10, Trojan coaches tossing around words like “unblockable” (as head coach Pete Carrol said during 2004 spring practices) should do the trick. Patterson would greatly upgrade any team’s defensive line if plugged into the center. On the Trojan line, he could make it the best in the country. |
