A Look at the Minnesota FB Scholarships

Former Walk-on Mike Sherels Earned a Scholarship		By Chris Monter Date: Dec 19, 2005 The Minnesota Gopher football team has 61 non-senior players on scholarship after hearing word that Andre Sloan El, Hussain Shakir, Johnny Sampy and Leland Jones were leaving the program. The Gophers have 20 commitments to date and will likely sign a full class of 25 players. The Gophers are likely to lose Laurence Maroney to the NFL Draft, which would open another scholarship. The following is the team's returning roster and scholarship numbers.
