Minnesota signee Ralph Sampson III had 18 points, but it was not enough as Northview lost to USA Today's No. 10-ranked Norcross (27-2) 75-60 Friday in the Class AAAAA quarterfinals.
Ralph Sampson III had 18 points, but it was McDonald's All-American Al-Farouq Aminu of Norcross who was the dominant inside player as he led the Blue Devils with 29 points.
Norcross led by just two points, 21-19, at the end of the first quarter but broke open the game with a 14-0 run at the start of the second period.
Zach Lamb scored a career-high 18 points for Norcross and A.J. Hawkins, a Northview transfer, added 12 points.
Nassa Nicholson led Northview with 19 points, including three three-pointers.
Sampson averaged 19.6 points, 10.3 rebounds and seven blocked shots per game as the Titans finished 21-9 this season and made their first ever state tournament appearance.
