The Class AAAAA football playoffs began Tuesday with the section semifinals Saturday. Several future Minnesota Gophers saw their teams win their first round matchups, such as Sam Maresh of Champlain Park, Brendan Kelly from Holy Angeles, John Nance and Shady Salamon from Cretin Derham Hall and Ryan Grant of Eden Prairie. However, Cooper's Roszell Gayden saw his career end with a playoff loss.
