Columbus Brookhaven Opens Season with 48-7 Win

Columbus Brookhaven, the home school of three Gopher freshman, Alex Daniels, Keith Massey and Dominic Jones, opened the season with 48-7 win over Chillicothe. The Bearcats defeated Avon Lake 42-21 to capture the Division II state championship last year as they finished 15-0. The Gophers are hoping to continue the Brookhaven pipeline by recruiting Jeff Cumberland and Mark Jackson. Jeff Cumberland, a 6-foot-4, 221-pounder, is an athletic tight end/defensive end who shined at the Scout.com combines. He is hearing from Miami of Florida, Minnesota, Ohio State, Penn State and USC.
Mark Jackson, a 6-foot-6, 300-pound tackle, is considering Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio State, Illinois, Miami of Florida, Michigan State and Southern California.
