Iowa landed their third commitment for the 2004-05 season when 7-0 Seth Goreny of Vandalia (Ohio) Butler said that he will play for the Hawkeyes. He is the 15th player to verbally commit to a Big Ten school, more than any conference. The Hawkeyes have the early lead with three commitments. However, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Purdue and Wisconsin have two commitments. Indiana and Penn State have two verbals, while Illinois, Northwestern and Ohio State have yet to land a player.
