Coleman Shines at Peach Jam
One player that should have garnered some interest is Minnesota native and class of 2011 recruit, Joe Coleman of the Howard Pulley Panthers. The 6 foot 3 wing from Hopkins High School put on a show in South Carolina. Coleman averaged an amazing 21.6 points per game while shooting 62 percent from the field. These incredible numbers ranked higher than top one recruit of 2011 Michael Gilchrest. Coleman's best game of the tournament came in a win against the New York Gauchos in which Coleman had 32 points on 12 of 13 shooting to go along with 11 rebounds. Coleman followed this up a day later with 32 points and 8 rebounds in a loss to the Oakland Soldiers.
Although the Gophers have not yet offered Coleman a scholarship, he has interest is high in playing for the Maroon and Gold. If he keeps putting up big numbers against top competition, expect Coleman to gather interest, and scholarship offers, from Division 1 programs.
