Royce White to Visit Iowa State Tuesday

Royce White, a 6-foot-9, 242-pound forward who did not play this past season for Minnesota after being charged with three counts of misdemeanor trespassing, will visit Iowa State Tuesday along with his Hopkins head coach Ken Novak Jr. GoldenSports.Net caught up with White Monday night at the Howard Pulley Summer League to learn the latest on his playing status.

Royce White was consider one of Minnesota top recruits last year after being named Mr. Basketball in 2009 and helped lead Hopkins to the Class AAAA title. He was expected to give to give the Gophers a physical frontcourt presence.

White told GoldenSports.Net Monday night that he is visiting Iowa State Tuesday and is also considering Baylor and Kentucky, which has been reported as a likely landing spot.

It appears his days as a Minnesota Gopher as over as he is hoping to get a waiver to play during the 2010-11 season. It is expected that he would not be eligible until the second semester since he didn't complete classes during Minnesota's second semester. t that's how it goes."
