Minnesota Among Favorites for Farniok

South Dakota offensive tackle Derek Farniok lists the Gophers among his favorites and shares what he's been working on and camp plans.

Derek Farniok, a 6-foot, 315-pound offensive tackle out of Washington High School in Sioux Falls, S.D. has been attracting a lot of attention from BCS schools.

His size alone is enough to catch any coach's attention, but his footwork – something he has been working on lately – has elicited the offers.

"I can move really good for being as big as I am. I got my foot speed up a lot," Farniok said.

Farniok currently holds offers from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Iowa, UCLA, Iowa State, Kansas and Louisville. He lists his favorites as Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Iowa and Minnesota.

When he's not lifting, Farniok throws shot and discus in track.

He has not planned any official visits, but will be visiting a number of schools next fall. Farniok has plans for three camps, "I am going to go to the Oklahoma, Iowa and Wisconsin camps." he said.

He reports a 3.8 GPA.
