Elliott Eliason leads Chadron to state tournament

Elliott Eliason, a 6-foot-11 center from Chadron (NE) High who signed with Minnesota, has helped lead the Cardinals to 22-2 mark with 14 straight wins. The Cardinals will face Wilber-Clatonia (20-3) Thursday at 9:00. They finished runner-up to two-time Class C-1 state champions Hastings (NE) St. Cecilia 61-58 in the title game last season.

Elliott Eliason scored 27 points in their District finals in a 42-34 win over Minden. He made ten of 18 shots from the field and seven of twelve from the line and added eleven rebounds and three blocked shots. It is the Cardinals' fourth straight district crown.

Eliason is averaging 18.4 points, 10.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 4.0 blocked shots per game, leading the team in all four categories. He is shooting 68.8% from the field and 62.8% from the line.

Eliason is one of two Minnesota early signees.
