Gophers Cruise to Easy 86-74 Win Over Iowa

Blake Hoffarber continued his hot shooting as he scored 24 points, two shy of his career high, leading Minnesota to an easy 86-74 win over Iowa 86-74 for its seventh straight win. The win improved the Gophers to 11-3 overall and a Big Ten-leading 2-0. They will 13-0 Purdue Tuesday night at 6:00 Central time.

Blake Hoffarber scored 17 points, including four three-pointers in the first half as the Gophers jumped out to a 21-4 and 45-20 lead.

Damian Johnson added 13 points and four blocks for the Gophers, who led by 13 just four minutes into the game and led by as much as 25 midway through the first half. The Gophers forced Iowa into a season-high 25 turnovers, including 18 in the first half. They led by at least 12 points the entire second half.

Matt Gatens had 14 points and nine rebounds for Iowa (5-9, 0-2), which lost for the fourth time in six games. Iowa closed the game on an 20-6 run.
