Elliott Eliason Leads Team to Runner-Up Spot

Elliott Eliason, a 6-foot-11, 235-pound junior center who has received interest from many schools, including Minnesota, led Chadron (NE) High with 17 points and nine rebounds, but it was not enough as the Cardinals fell to defending Class C-1 state champions Hastings (NE) St. Cecilia 61-58. Chadron entered the title game undefeated and was the No. 1 seed.

Chadron led 38-36 at halftime, as they shot 12 of 21 from the field, including six of 12 on three-pointers in the first half. However, Chadron (26-1) was just six of 17 from the field in the second half, hit one of six three-pointers and committed 12 turnovers.

Elliott Eliason made six of nine shots from the field and five of eight from the line. St. Cecilia finished 24-1 with the victory.
