Minnesota offensive coordinator Mike Dunbar has resigned his position to pursue other professional interests. The announcement was made Tuesday morning by Gophers’ head coach Tim Brewster.

Minnesota offensive coordinator Mike Dunbar came to the Gophers after serving the same position at California for the 2006 season. He previously was coordinator at Big Ten rival Northwestern.

“Coach Dunbar has contributed a great deal to this program over the past two years and I would like to thank him for his efforts,” Brewster said. “I have a great deal of respect for Mike and I wish him nothing but the best.”

Brewster will conduct a national search to fill the vacancy on his coaching staff. No timetable has been set for the search. Brewster was traveling Tuesday and was be unavailable for comment.
