Eric Decker is Offensive Player of the Week

Eric Decker, a junior wide receiver, was named GoldenSports.net/Outback Steakhouse's Gopher Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in their season-opening 31-27 victory over Northern Illinois. Decker was named GoldenSports.net/Outback Steakhouse's Gopher Offensive Player of the Week twice last season.

Eric Decker finished with 10 receptions and 89 receiving yards against Northern Illinois with one touchdown. His 8-yard reception for a score capped off an 18-play, 90-yard drive to put the Gophers up 7-0. Decker had six catches for 42 yards in the drive.

Decker was also the hero as a defensive back in the game's final play as Northern Illinois attempted a Hail Mary pass, only to have Decker knocked the ball to the ground. Decker currently is tied for sixth in the NCAA with his 10 receptions.
