Roszell Gayden, a 6-foot-7, 295-pound tackle from Robbinsdale (MN) Cooper who committed to Minnesota last April but did not sign with the Gophers, will attend junior college and play football at a program that Gopher fans are well aware of. GoldenSports.Net recently caught up with Gayden to learn the latest. | |||

Roszell Gayden led Copper to a 2-7 mark this season. They defeated Columbia Heights 28-20 and St. Louis Park 28-0, but failed to score more than seven points in their seven losses, including three shutouts. Gayden was named to the Associated Press and Minnesota Vikings All-State teams and KARE-11 and Minneapolis Star Tribune All-Metro team. Gayden told GoldenSports.Net Saturday that he and his twin brother Rashad will attend the College of Sequioas. He will play there for two seasons and then transfer to a Division I school. College of Sequioas is the current school of defensive back Traye Simmons, who will join the team this summer, and one-time Gopher signee Jamar Howard, a standout wide receiver. Gayden said that he found the school on his own, despite the ties to the Gopher program. He also said that Minnesota is still a possibility after two seasons of JC football. Gayden will be joined by brother Rashad, who had signed with North Dakota School of Science. Rashad had considered walking-on to Minnesota before having to go the junior college route. |
