Trevor Williams gets Minnesota interest

Trevor Williams, a 6-foot-11, 254-pound center from Denver (CO) Lutheran, received a visit Tuesday from Minnesota assistant coach Vince Taylor. Taylor had seen Williams last fall and is monitoring the big man who is getting increased recruiting attention. Williams has received scholarship offers from Washington State, Purdue and Colorado State and the list is expected to grow.

Trevor Williams has scholarship offers from Washington State, Purdue and Colorado State and recently told that UCLA, Kansas, West Virginia, Texas Tech, Minnesota, Marquette and Oklahoma are also showing interest.

Williams has visited Colorado State for an unofficial visit.

Williams had 57 blocks and 23 steals on the season, as the Lights finished 16-5 overall and 6-3 in the Metro league last year, while averaging 12.2 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. He scored in double figures in 15 of 21 games. He had a season-best 27 points versus Battle Mountain. Williams grabbed double figures in rebounding in 14 of 21 games. He shot 54% from the field and 33.3% from the free throw line and was named first team All-Metro League.

Williams was named honorable mention Class AAA All-State.

Williams also played on the 3-6 football team. He had 22 tackles and caught two passes.

Williams, who does not turn 17 until July, plays for the Tru-Playaz AAU team and was recently invited to the Nike Hoops Jamboree in July. Recommended Stories
