Gopher signee Paul Carter, a 6-foot-8 forward from Missouri State University-West Plains CC, had 10 points and 10 rebounds, but it was not enough as the Grizzlies lost to Three Rivers 80-61 in the Region 16 championship game. Carter made four of seven from the field and two of three from the line in the loss.

averaged 12.6 points per game this season and led the Grizzlies to a 27-5 mark. They face Three Rivers Saturday in the Region 16 title game.
Missouri State/West Plains shot just nine of 32 (28.1%) from the field and one of eight from (12.5%) from three-point range in the first half as they trailed 44-29 at halftime. Three Rivers made 14 of 24 (58.3%) from the field and seven of 12 (58.3%) from beyond the arc.
Three Rivers cooled off from the field in the second half as they shot eight of 22 (36.4%) from the field and one of 10 (10%) from three-point range, but they hit 19 of 21 free throws to seal the game.
Morris "Mo" Smith, a 6-foot-3 sophomore, was the only other double-figure scorer for the Grizzlies as he finished with 14 points. However, he was just three of 14 from the field and one of eight from beyond the arc.
Bryan Sherrer led five three Rivers players in double figures as he made all 12 free throw attempts to finish with a game-high 19 points. Brandon Rogowski and
Ken Bingham
had 13 points each.
Artem Valov
added 12 points and Jeff chipped in with 10.
