Devron Bostick Scores 16 points in Opener
Western Illinois has not released him from his letter of intent, so he will likely have to spend two years at the junior college level.
Harrellson averaged 18.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.6 blocked shots, 1.5 assists and 1.3 steals per game last season as a high school senior at St. Charles (MO) High. He shot 58.4% from the field and 68% from the line as he led the Pirates to a 23-8 mark and was named second-team All-Metro by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Harrellson could be a player that Minnesota shows interest in recruiting. West Virginia, Oklahoma State, Colorado, Indiana and Ohio State are among the teams that have shown interest in him.
Head coach Jay Harrington told the Belleville News Democrat that he was disappointed in the play of his two captains, sophomore co-captains Joey Parker, who was held to four points, and Devron Bostick, even though they played well down the stretch.
"Let me put it this way -- I wasn't happy with some of the things they did on Wednesday," Harrington said of Parker and Bostick. "Devron gets two fouls in the first three minutes and sits the rest of the first half. Joey did some things I didn't like either.
"I think those two kids were like a lot of the boys last night. They got frustrated with themselves."
