Duane Bennett is Offensive Player of the Week

Duane Bennett, a 5-foot-9, 195-pound freshman running back, was named GoldenSports.net/Outback Steakhouse's Gopher Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season for his efforts in their 27-21 loss to North Dakota State. His strong play will likely earn him the starting job against Michigan with Amir Pinnix slowed by turf toe and Jay Thomas likely out for the year with a knee injury.

Duane Bennett was named GoldenSports.net/Outback Steakhouse's Gopher Offensive Player of the Week after gaining 31 yards on just eight carries and caught three passes for 71 yards.

Bennett scored his third touchdown of his college career with a 32-yard touchdown reception. He also hauled in a 35-yard pass.

Bennett has rushed 45 times this season for 215 yards (4.8 yards per carry).
