Duane Bennett is Offensive Player of the Week

Duane Bennett, a 5-foot-9, 195-pound freshman running back, was named GoldenSports.net/Outback Steakhouse's Gopher Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in their 45-31 loss to Purdue. His strong play against the Boilermakers will likely earn him the starting job against Ohio State with Amir Pinnix slowed by turf toe.

Duane Bennett was named GoldenSports.net/Outback Steakhouse's Gopher Offensive Player of the Week after gaining 81 yards on just seven carries.

Bennett scored his first touchdown of his college career with a four-yard touchdown run. The play came just after Bennett rushed for 44 yards, his career best.

Bennett has rushed 13 times this season for 122 yards (9.4 yards per carry).
