Ex-Gopher Limar Wilson Transfers to Tarleton

Minnesota junior guard Limar Wilson has decided to transfer to Division II Tarleton State. Wilson, a native of Orlando, played in 26 games, starting 15, while averaging 4.1 points per game for the Gophers.

Limar Wilson demonstrated excellent quickness, but struggled with his shooting in his only season with Minnesota. He shot just 35% from the field and 25.5% from three-point range.

Willson was third on the team with 2.2 assists per game, but he also averaged 2.0 turnovers per game and was pulled out of the Ohio State game after having the ball stolen twice in a row. He did not travel with the team to the Indiana game after missing a practice after the Ohio State game.

Wilson will be joined by former Northeast Nebraska teammate Jeffrey Henfield, who played at New Mexico this past season. Henfield averaged 2.2 points and 1.5 rebounds per game for the Lobos.

Tarleton finished 18-10 this past season. The Texans have a combined 152-42 record over the last six seasons, while reaching the NCAA Division II playoffs from the 2001-02 season through the 2005-06 seasons. The Texans were back-to-back South Central Regional Champions in 2004-05 and 2005-06 and advanced to the Elite Eight where the team reached the semifinals in 2005.
