Limar Wilson to Transfer at End of Season

Minnesota junior guard Limar Wilson has decided to transfer at the end of the school year. Wilson, a native of Orlando, played in 26 games, starting 15, while averaging 4.1 points per game. He did not travel with the team to Indiana after missing a practice earlier this week. The loss of Wilson opens up a scholarship for the late signing period.

Limar Wilson demonstrated excellent quickness, but struggled with his shooting in his only season with Minnesota. He is shooting just 35% from the field and 25.5% from three-point range.

Willson was third on the team with 2.2 assists per game, but he also averaged 2.0 turnovers per game and was pulled out of the Ohio State game Saturday after having the ball stolen twice in a row.

“Since Limar has made the decision to transfer after the school year, I feel it is in everyone’s best interests to sever ties at this time so he can pursue future opportunities,” interim head coach Jim Molinari said. “We appreciate his efforts during his time here.”
