Jacksonville WR Tray Herndon to Visit Gophers

Tray Herndon, a 5-foot-11, 180-pound wide receiver from Jacksonville (FL) Bolles, will visit Minnesota, according to his mother. Herndon led Bolles to a 14-0 mark this season and a state championship. The Bolles Bulldogs won the program's eighth state title as they defeated Clewiston 27-24 in triple overtime at Dolphin Stadium. Herndon had three catches for 91 yards, including a 58-yard touchdown.

Tray Herndon visited Troy Jan. 12, Indiana Jan. 19 and Middle Tennessee State this past weekend.

Herndon had an outstanding senior season as he broke the area record for receiving yards in regular-season play with 1,363 yards in ten games.

Bolles was a dominant team this season as they outscored their opposition 624-138.

Herndon received a scholarship offer from Miami, but has not heard much from the Hurricanes recently, according to his mother, Olivia Spurlock.

Herndon was named to the Class 2A All-State Football team, which was selected by the Florida Sports Writers Association. He is ranked #89 among the top 100 state prospects by the Orlando Sun Sentinel.

Herndon is also an outstanding track and field athlete. He competes in the 200 meters (24.10), long jump (18-6) and triple jump (35-10).
