OH LB Ricardo Thompson Commits to Minnesota
"I am real excited about it," Thompson said of his Minnesota commitment. "I wanted to commit early and I feel like I fit in real good with their system."
"I think that I am going to be used as an outside linebacker or nickel safety in their system."
"I was also strongly considering Miami (OH) and Cincinnati, but I just wanted to get farther away from home."
Withrow finished 10-1 overall and 6-0 in the Southwest Ohio Public League in Thompson's sophomore season as they lost in the first round of Division II playoffs. They moved up to Division I last season and finished 6-4.
Minnesota landed wide receiver Jamar Howard from Withrow last season. Unfortunately, he was unable to gain admission to Minnesota and will play at Cincinnati.
Withrow plays a tough schedule, including a spot in the third annual i-wireless FOX19 Prep Classic at Paul Brown Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006, against conference for Cincinnati Taft.
