Sibley QB Phil Haig Commits to Gophers

Phil Haig, a 6-foot-4 quarterback from Mendota Heights (MN) Henry Sibley who is one of the state's most versatile athletes, has committed to Minnesota, according to sources close to his recruitment. Haig also plays on the Warriors' basketball team and is a standout pitcher. He finished in the final eight on the Class AA tennis tournament in doubles as a freshman before switching to baseball. Haig attended the Gopher Junior Day in February and watched Minnesota defeat Iowa in basketball.

Phil Haig completed 103 of 209 passes for 1,425 yards with 12 touchdowns and just four interceptions as he led the Warriors to a 4-5 mark. He was named to the Classic Suburban All-Conference team. Haig will be a three-year starting signal caller for the Warriors. He paced team to 5-6 mark as a sophomore starter and led the Warrriors to Class 5A, Section 5 Finals...
