The Class AAA Tournament features two of Minnesota's top individual players. Bryce Webster, a 6-foot-9 center from Mendota Heights (MN) St. Thomas Academy who was named Star Tribune Metro Player of the Year, averaged 21.6 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per game this season, leading the Cadets to the Classic Suburban Conference title. He inked with Minnesota in the early signing period and finished with 14 points, nine boards and six assists to lead the Cadets to a 57-51 win over Rocori.
They will face Minneapolis (MN) DeLaSalle Thursday at noon. The Islanders are led by
Cameron Rundles
, who signed with Montana in the early signing period. The Islanders moved up to Class AAA this season after losing to two-time defending Braham in the first round last season. Rundles finished with 12 points in the Islanders' 61-36 first round win over Totino-Grace.
The winner will likely face Duluth East, who moved down to Class AAA this season and is paced by
Cory Johnson
, a 6-7, 215-pound forward who signed with Iowa State. Johnson scored 28 points in the Greyhounds' 81-57 opening round win over Monticello.
