Ryan Ruckdashel, a 6-6, 260-pound offensive tackle from Apple Valley (MN) Eastview, is considered one of the top offensive lineman in the state this season. GoldenSports.Net caught up with Ruckdashel during halftime of the Minnesota-Michigan State game to get the latest on his recruitment. Ruckdashel is considering both schools.

Ryan Ruckdashel has set two visits. He plans to visit Minnesota Dec. 3 and Iowa State Dec. 10. Ruckdashel said that he is still trying to decide when to visit Michigan State.

Iowa State has jumped back in the mix, said Ruckdashel. trying to decide when to visit Michigan State.

"A little bit. I still like their coaching staff."

However, he admitted that Iowa's State lack of success could hurt the Cyclones' chances. Iowa State is 0-2 in Big 12 play and 2-3 overall.

Eastview defeated Rosemount 32-8 to improve to 4-3. The Lightning will finish the season against crosstown rival Apple Valley (5-2) at home. Ruckdashel received an offer from Minnesota after attending their football camp in June. Ruckdashel was named honorable mention All-Lake Conference in his first year as a starter after lettering as a sophomore.

Ruckdashel also wrestles as a heavyweight and has a 20-12 record this season. He also throws the discus and had a best toss of 137 feet.

Ruckdashel is an excellent student with a 3.85 GPA. He was nominated by Eastview High School for the ExCEL (Excellence in Community, Education and Leadership) Award. He was named as one of the 25 students statewide to be recognized. Ruckdashel told me that he plans to major in excerise science.

Ruckdashel also has scholarship offers from Ball State, Northern Illinois and Iowa State and had heard from Northwestern and Iowa, but he has eliminated those schools. He attended football camps at Iowa State, Wisconsin and Notre Dame.

Ruckdashel told me that he was recently timed with a 5.06-second 40-yard dash and bench pressed 185 pounds 31 times. His vertical is 28 inches.

Ruckdashel is considered to have excellent technique as a blocker and has demonstrated good aggressiveness.
