Damian Johnson commits to Minnesota

Damian Johnson, a 6-foot-6 small forward from Thibodaux (LA) High, told College Basketball News that he could commit soon to Minnesota after visiting the campus this weekend. That commitment came less than 24 hours later as he decided to verbal to the Gophers. Johnson saw his stock rise with strong showings at the AAU nationals and Super Showcase in Orlando. He is the second player to commit to Minnesota.

Damian Johnson played against members of the Gopher team and attended the Minnesota-Illinois State football game.

Johnson told College Basketball News that he plans to major in chemical engineering. Minnesota has one of the top chemical engineering programs in the country.
