Paris Hamilton will miss the entire season

6-1 wide receiver Paris Hamilton will have surgery on his left knee and will miss the entire season. Hamilton was ranked as the No. 1 junior college receiver by JCFootball.com and was considered one of the top recruits for the class of 2003.

Paris Hamilton was a first-team All-Southwest Junior College Football Conference selection as a sophomore at Paris (TX) CC, catching 24 passes for 576 yards and seven touchdowns. Hamilton was named the Gophers' Top Newcomer for 2003 by Lindy's and a preseason All-Big Ten selection by Phil Steele's College Preview.

Hamilton was expected to make an major impact with his combination of speed and strength. He owns the fastest 40-time on the team with a 4.50 and benches 330 pounds, which is the highest among receivers and tight ends. He had been mentioned as a possible starter alongside Aaron Hosack.

Because Hamilton is a junior college transfer, he will only have one year of eligibility remaining.
