Turner Talks About U-M Visit

A lot of recruits made the trek to Minneapolis for Minnesota's recruiting BBQ and Norwalk (OH.) senior running back Breck Turner definitely left impressed

The Gophers hosted a number of prospects on campus for their recruiting BBQ and one of them was Norwalk (OH.) senior running back Breck Turner. The Ohio native tailback talks about his time in Minneapolis and his talk with Head Coach Jerry Kill.

“The visit went really well,” Turner told GopherDigest. “I got to talk to Coach Kill for awhile and meet the rest of the coaching staff. They took us on a tour of the campus and the facilities. The recruits then got to meet with the incoming freshmen. After that we went into the stadium to play corn hole and eat. I got to meet with all the running backs players and recruits and talk to them. The food was on point (laughter). Coach Kill said I’m what there looking for as a player and a person. He said I’d have a really good chance to help contribute to the success they’ve started to have early on.”

The 6-0, 195-pound running back, who holds offers from Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Illinois, Kent State, Marshall, Minnesota, Navy, Toledo and Western Michigan got the chance to also chat to Gopher quarterback commit, Demry Croft. He also discusses how is recruitment looks now after the visit.

“I also got to talk to Demry Croft,” said Turner. “He is a quarterback commit there and he is a real cool dude. I talked to him and his family a lot. I knew I wasn’t going to commit yesterday though. I still have to visit Navy and Eastern Michigan, but they are up there with Toledo, Illinois and Ball State. That would be my top four.”

Turner mentions that his favorite part of the visit was just getting to spend time with the other running back recruits and players at the BBQ and getting to know the coaches better as the day went on. Now, the Gophers sit in very good position to land him.

“Minnesota would be a great place to go and I’m really liking where my relationships with the coaches and players is heading,” said Turner.
