Minnesota is having a huge weekend with visitors on campus for their recruiting BBQ and landed a commit from the Aurora (ON.) St. Andrew's College running back Jonathan Femi-Cole. He becomes the seventh commit in their 2015 recruiting class. He discusses his commitment to the Gophers.
I feel like I have the best chance to succeed here," Femi-Cole told GopherDigest. "They love to run the ball as well as how similar it is to home. I was talking to Coach Kill in his office about the tour. I made my commitment there and I felt good about it."
"I can see myself fitting well in their offense. That is the main reason why I decided to commit."
The 6-0, 220-pound tailback is a very powerful and physical back that the Gophers have been pursing for awhile now. They were his first offer and that gained his respect for Minnesota. For them to be the first to put their name in the hat that definitely impacted his recruitment.
Femi-Cole is a three star running back by Scout.com and held one other offer from Buffalo. He was also hearing from Michigan State, Ohio State, Nevada, Nebraska, Rutgers and Wisconsin. The main recruiters for him were Coach Poore and Coach Reeves. They really wanted him and he should be a great fit in their offense with his downhill style of running.
He rushed for 1,300 yards last season along with scoring 15 touchdowns.
