Fort Atkinson (WI.) senior outside linebacker James Nachtigal has not had the biggest recruitment or the attention he was hoping for, but is working towards making himself be known as a great player that colleges need from trying to have a big senior season.
"My recruitment is pretty much the same old same old," Nachtigal told GopherDigest. "I'm just starting to get some game invites and stuff now, so hopefully I'll be able to start getting back into it. Minnesota has never talked to me or anything yet. Hopefully I'll be able to get into contact with them this season."
"We had our first game last Friday. We won 34-27 in OT. I had like 4 catches for 100 yards and a touchdown. I also had a kick return called back. I am not sure how many tackles, but my goal is to average a turnover on defense every game and about 10 tackles. We want to finish top in the conference and proceed to make a run in the playoffs, so that is what I am working towards."
While the 6-2, 205-pound versatile outside linebacker resides in the Cheese State, but he has strong connections to Minnesota and talks how big of an offer it would be to get a Golden Gopher offer.
"I am for sure interested in Minnesota," said Nachtigal. "My sister goes to college there, so it'd be really cool if I had the possibility to go there. She absolutely loves it. She lives like near the football complex, so she talks to the players every once in a while too."
"If Minnesota offered me, then that would be huge deal to me! It's a Big Ten school, so that makes it even better."
Nachtigal is now working on setting up some visits for the fall and has a few places in mind to where he like to see.
