The Gophers would like to add a second running back in their class and have been heavily pursing a Florida highly regarded back. He talks about setting up a visit to Minneapolis and how he views Minnesota as well

At 5-11, 190-pounds, Bradenton (FL.) Manatee senior running back Trevon Walters has the size and speed it takes to compete at the next level. Many schools have taken notice of that talent by him already holding a handful of offers in Marshall, South Florida, Tulane, Toledo, Georgia Southern and Minnesota. He talks about how his recruitment is going and reflects back at when he got that Golden Gopher offer.

"My recruitment is going alright, but no teams are sticking out to me," Walters told GopherDigest. "I have been talking heavily to Minnesota and Toledo lately, but other than that it has been going good so far."

"My coach from Minnesota that is recruiting me came to see me at school awhile back and he had told me that they were going to offer me, but said that he couldn't tell me officially, so he told my coach. He came back to my practice and told my coach to tell me that they were going to offer me, so I was surprised and shocked. It was one of my first couple of offers, so it meant something to me."

What does the No. 55 running back in the nation and a three star recruit by Fox Sports Next think about the Gophers and will the coldness be a factor to him at all?

"I like Minnesota's locker room because the coaches have sent me pictures of it and it looks nice," said Walters. "I fell in love with that and I really like their stadium. I know it is cold up there, but I really don't care about all that."

Walters has also been working on setting up his official visits and pinned down one of his official visits to Minneapolis.

"I actually already set up a visit to Minnesota on September 28," said Walters. "I want to see what all is around the school like the city and building the relationship with the coaches. I want to also see how the coaches are. I am just looking forward to visiting Minnesota and they high on my list. If I had to pick a top three right now, then Minnesota would be in it."

With the season approaching fast, Walters and the Manatee team are preparing to have a big year, which he thinks the team along with him are very capable of doing.

"We are looking pretty good right now and we think that we can go to states because that is how good the team looks this year," said Walters. "I am trying to be a leader for my team and I am also working on my footwork. My speed, my vision, my explosive, my power are all things I know coaches have told me that I am good at, but you can never stop working."
