Minnesota will have one of their commits compete at arguably the biggest camp around nation in Oregon at The Opening with Minneapolis (MN.) Washburn running back Jeffrey Jones attending. This will give him the chance to really showcase his skills against the top competition in the nation and prove he is one the best in the Midwest.
Jones path to The Opening happened earlier at the Nike Football Training Camp in Chicago, where he earned RB MVP Honors and ultimately his invite.
Fox Sports Next's National Recruiting Analyst, Allen Trieu gave his thoughts on Minnesota's running back commit's performance at the NFTC in Chicago- "The running back MVP was Minneapolis Washburn's Jeffrey Jones, who has great burst and quick feet. He's a very good athlete and had everybody talking with his speed and ability to catch the ball. Already a four-star prospect, Jones continued to raise his stock with this performance."
The 6-1, 190-pound running back is ranked the No. 13 running back in the nation and a four star recruit by Fox Sports Next. He held offers from Illinois, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Iowa State, Kentucky and Iowa before he committed to Minnesota. Many coveted the talented runner as he has the speed and burst to excel at the next level and early for the Gophers.
