Thoughts on Becoming a Golden Gopher
"It will mean a lot. I am excited to make it official and to feel like I'm part of the team. I'm really excited about this year's class and to meet the rest of the guys."

Prep Career Highlights
Despite being injured for part of his senior season, Wipson tallied 57 tackles, three forced fumbles and a sack, earning him First-Team All-State honors. As a junior, Wipson had 82 tackles and was named All-Conference and All-State Honorable Mention.

Coach Tracy Claeys' Take
"Chris Wipson is here locally from Wayzata. Chris, we had over in camp, runs extremely well. Unfortunately hurt is ACL in the fall but we're going to stick in there with him. He's a good player. Let him get healed up. He may have to redshirt because of his injury but he'll definitely have a great career here at the University of Minnesota."
