FRISCO, Texas -- Scout.com presents the Top 150 prospects from the Midlands Region (Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas)...

The New No. 1

After a dominating performance at The Opening in Portland, Ore., over the summer and a strong showing at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Fort Worth (Texas) Arlington Heights defensive tackle A'Shawn Robinson was voted on by the Scout.com National Analysts as the No. 1 defensive tackle and the No. 5 prospect in the country overall.

Robinson, who will sign with the college of his choice (Alabama, Florida State, Texas or USC) on Wednesday, narrowly edged out Sealy (Texas) High star Ricky Seals-Jones for the top spot in the regional rankings. Seals-Jones, a Texas A&M verbal commitment, had been holding on to the top spot for over a year.

Still on the Market

This year a few of the regions top prospects are still sorting through the recruiting process, looking for a place to call home.

Over 1/4 of the Midlands Top 20 are undecided. The aformentioned Robinson is at the top of the watch list, but he is not the only intriguing storyline.

St. Louis (Mo.) Burroughs running back Ezekiel Elliott has been a longtime commitment to Ohio State, but took a trip to Missouri last weekend and has now stated that he will be making his final intentions known on National Signing Day, when the smooth rusher will then only then break his silence with the media.

DeSoto (Texas) High speedster Dontre Wilson opened things back up after Oregon head coach Chip Kelly left for the NFL. Ironically, it may be Ohio State's interest in pursuing his recruitment which could ultimately cost it Elliott. Wilson will take one more official trip to Texas and then decide between the Ducks, Buckeyes and Longhorns.

Lancaster (Texas) High defensive end Daeshon Hall is considered by many as the defensive player of the Year in the Lone Star State and that is why he has so many schools ravenous over the possibility of his signature. TCU, Texas A&M and Washington are the final three and Hall is reportedly torn. He is a Seattle, Wash., native and would enjoy getting back to his roots, but TCU offers the chance at early playing time, while Texas A&M is on the rise in the SEC.

Waco (Texas) High powerhouse defensive tackle Andrew Billings has bee down to a final three of Baylor, TCU and Texas for a good while. He skipped out on a stop at the International Bowl to gather his thoughts and make a sound decision. The Horns have been thought of as the leader, but he has been back-and-forth a number of times as his choice has evaded him. He is set to announce next Tuesday on a radio broadcast in Waco.

Alief (Texas) Taylor High defensive end Torrodney Prevot is one of the quickest players in the game off of the edge and when he arcs around an offensive tackle he gets in the backfield in a hurry. He originally pledged to USC, but has taken official trips to Texas A&M and Oregon. It will be a signing day decision and the team he originally picked is considered by many to be the long shot.

By The Numbers

A whopping 123 players from the State of Texas can be found on the list.

3 players can be found on the list from the State of Kansas and 3 from the State of Nebraska. The top-rated 'Sunflower State' prospect is Conway Springs (Kan.) High's defensive end Tanner Wood, who is committed to Kansas State and the top-rated player from the 'Cornhusker State' is Lincoln (Neb.) Southwest defensive end Christian Lacouture, who is committed to LSU.

145 of the Midlands Top 150 prospects are already known to have been offered a scholarship to a BCS level program or have already made their commitment to sign with a BCS level program on National Letter of Intent Day.

1 is said to be the loneliest number, but maybe not in the case of Sioux Falls (S.D.) Washington High wide receiver Nathan Gerry. The 6'2, 205-pounder's talent sticks out like a sore thumb on film and because of his dominance he earned a full-ride to Nebraska. He is the lone player from South Dakota on the list.
