Recruiting Notes: Offer from Toledo
Webb explodes into people when he tackles. His instincts are tremendous. Once he diagnoses a play, he goes with no hesitation. He has great feet and can change direction quickly. Generously listed at 5-foot-10 and 175 pounds, Webb has a height disadvantage at the next level. However, he does use great body position and has a good enough vertical leap to win the fade route battle among high school receivers.
Webb would prefer to pop somebody rather than go for the ball on an interception, but he is capable of going up to make the pick. Could see him at corner at the next level, but does have the intensity and aggressiveness to play safety if he is able to put on some more muscle mass. His top end speed is very good, but not blazing for a Division I corner. Most of his plays are made when he is coming down hill towards the line of scrimmage rather than backpedaling, but he does recognize route concepts quickly, which helps win back some of his height disadvantage.
As a special team player, he could add real value to a team as a punt blocker, gunner on punt, or covering kickoffs. He hustles. When the ball is on the ground, it's his. He has taken a number of fumbles back for touchdowns in his career.
