Mollberg Talks UND Commitment

Detroit Lakes (Minn.) quarterback Joe Mollberg discusses his commitment the University of North Dakota.

"Yes sir," Mollberg said when asked if he committed to North Dakota.

Mollberg visited UND last weekend and watched the Sioux wallop Black Hills State in the Potato Bowl. The atmosphere surrounding the win was one of the deciding factors for Mollberg's commitment.

"I committed because of the whole atmosphere and the coaches were great," he said.

Mollberg chose North Dakota over offers from North Dakota State and South Dakota state. The 6-foot-2, 207-pound quarterback considers himself a "soft commit" because he is still waiting to see if he gets one more scholarship—an offer from Iowa.

Mollberg impressed the Hawkeye coaching staff earlier this year when he attended an evaluation camp on the Iowa campus. Mollberg has been in constant contact with the Hawkeye staff and said he should know if he has an Iowa tender with in the next month. Recommended Stories
