Dunbar said few teams have been calling but he has received attention during recent college visits in the "Pelican State".
Coaches talked to me and my father over spring break because I visited the University of Louisiana-Lafayette and LSU," he explained. "I liked the way LSU practiced and the campus was very nice."
Karmichael's father is Karl Dunbar, a former All-SEC defensive lineman for LSU and current defensive line coach for the Minnesota Vikings.
"My dad spoke at Alabama and coaches talked to him about me there as well," he said.
The 6-foot-2, 300-pounder also took part in a junior day for the instate Gophers but mentioned there has been much contact from Minnesota since that visit.
"I haven't been there to watch practice and they haven't contacted me since I visited on junior day," he said.
Although Dunbar had only a brief visit to Minnesota he left impressed with head coach Jerry Kill.
"I feel he is very confident in what his team is doing right now," he said.
Dunbar is playing baseball this spring and said he hopes to improve his speed and agility for football next season.
